I just want to take a moment to write about how lucky I am to live in the United States of America. I also want to express my gratitude to all the men and women in our Armed Forces keeping our country free.
Despite all of our Nation’s problems, we as Americans are still blessed with freedoms that people in other countries don’t have. We have the freedom to worship without the fear of prison or death, free to travel, free to raise our families how we seem fit, free to choose what type of work we do, or even if we choose to work. We even have a vote as who we choose to lead our country.
I hear everyday of Americans complaining about what they can’t do, or the government intrusions in their lives. If we would all just stop, be thankful for the freedoms we have, we all would be happier Americans.
As I think about the five police officers that lost their lives in the line of duty a few weeks ago, I feel sadden about their families that have to deal with the loss. These men were doing their jobs protecting the innocent. I give my gratitude to them for doing so sacrificially. Only in America will you find men and women like these that give up their life for other people they don’t even know.
America is truly blessed. We all should be proud to wave our nation’s red, white and blue. I will stand up for America the home of the brave, land of the free.
