I know it’s been over a month since I last wrote. Sometimes life just gets busy, and time just keeps going.I am considered to be a baby boomer.
Yes, I was born in the early ’60s—Easter morning in 1961, to be exact. In the generations since, I have seen many changes, some good and some not so good. I have witnessed the development of cell phones, from the bag phone to the cell phones of today, where the World Wide Web goes with you in your pocket.
I have seen cars transition from manually shifting gears to automatic transmissions. I grew up when power steering and power brakes were brand new options for vehicles. I have also seen television evolve from a time when there were only three channels that all signed off at midnight to cable, and now streaming 24 hours a day, seven days a week. I also grew up in a time when there were no stores or gas stations in towns that were open on Sundays. Gasoline when I was first driving was $0.45 a gallon. Candy bars were only $0.10, and they were big bars, too. The price for a movie theater ticket was a whopping $0.75, and you could get a large popcorn and a large drink for $1.00.
There have also been some bad things, too. When the soldiers came home from Vietnam, there were no celebrations for them, no thank-yous for serving their country. Instead, they were looked down upon, ridiculed, and humiliated. There were riots in the streets from the Black population because some white people thought they were better than the Blacks. Racism was at its worst, with the KKK, and local and state governments allowed it to be acceptable. Here now, today: have things really gotten any better? Racism still exists, prices for gasoline are over $2.00 or more a gallon, and we have more homelessness than ever before since the Great Depression in the ’30s. Food and prescription prices are so high that some seniors have to decide whether to eat or have meds to keep their health.
There is doubt; we are living in almost desperate times. Theft, drug addiction, and killings are at their worst. More marriages end in divorce, and openly being gay or transgender is perfectly okay and protected. Then there is abortion, where the government says it’s okay to terminate a life before it’s even born.
We live in a sad, sinful world, and it’s not okay.
God will someday come to judge, condemn, and destroy it, along with all the evil within.
The Bible believers call it “Judgment Day.”
Are you ready for it?
We will all be judged, but only those who have accepted God’s call, believe in His name, proclaim that He has risen from the dead, and have accepted His gift of salvation will escape God’s wrath.
Are you one of God’s children?
Yes, we have all sinned and are all guilty. The penalty for that is death.
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life. Romans 6:23.
Have you accepted God’s gift of life?
You can’t obtain it by doing good deeds, nor will you escape God’s wrath by trying to be a good person.
There is only one way to escape God’s wrath, and that is to accept God and know Him as your Heavenly Father.
I say unto you, no man shall enter the Kingdom of God except through me. John 14:6.
The Lord will come; no one knows when. We need to be ready when He does.
This world offers nothing for God’s children but death and destruction.
God offers peace, joy, love, and life forever, without pain and without sadness.
I will always choose God. How about you?
May God’s blessings always fall upon you.
