Are your Fruits Showing?

I’m not really keen on getting on social media. There is just too much trash, lies, and scams—everything that disgusts me. So I limit myself to very little time.

With all the bad on social media, there are some good things.

I enjoy reading posts from fellow model railroaders, getting advice, giving advice, and seeing amazing layouts. I also enjoy reading other Christian posts. The same happens just like in model railroading.

Which brings me to the topic of this blog.

What does a Born Again Christian look like? Is there a difference? Should there be a difference?

Matthew 5:14-16 says we need to be a light in the world so all may see our good deeds.

That light is your faith working in your life. As a Christian, we should stand out from the crowd and do things that glorify God. If at one time you went to bars for drinks, when you became a Christian, those outings to bars should have come to an end. I’m not saying having a drink once in a while is bad, but how would going into a bar glorify God?

My point is that a Born Again Christian should naturally change and want to change the way they live. There should be a distinct difference from the old way of life to the new way. When you became saved, your focus should have changed from all about you to all about Christ.

A Christian should be showing the gifts of the Spirit in every part of life. The fruits of the Spirit is found in;

Galatians 5:22-26:
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness, and self-control. Against such things, there is no law.
Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires.
Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.
Let us not become conceited, provoking, and envying each other.

If we are truly living for God, we will show the fruits of the Spirit in our lives. They should come automatically, and you should naturally be doing them without trying, because God’s Holy Spirit lives in you, so it is only natural that these gifts will outwardly manifest.

The question of what a Christian should look like? It should be very evident in that person’s life, just by the gifts of the Spirit abundantly showing through everything you do.

This is how you can recognize a true believer from a false prophet.

Let me remind us that we need to be careful as God’s children. God does not want us to judge other people whether they claim to Christians or not.

We have to live in this world, but we dont have to do the things of this world.

As Born again Christians we need to be a light for His glory so that others can see and also come to the saving knowledge of Christ.

If your life is not showing the fruits of the Spirit, or you dont think you are. STOP! Pray to God, let Him speak to you on changes that need to be made.

Your life should reflect the love of God through everything you do.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV): Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

May God’s peace always abide in you.
