I know it’s been 5 years since I last posted anything to One True King. Much has happened during this time, unfortunately not all of it is good, but you have to take the good with the bad. I will try to give a quick update, of the past years, and then I can’t wait to tell I have been blessed through it all. So I will just dive right in.

We all remember COVID 19, so that is where I will start. In December , two days before Christmas, I left work early because I got ill. About 3 am in the morning my wife had to rush me to the hospital. My wife and I thought I had a bad flu bug or maybe pnmonia. Hospital, put me in a negative air flow room and did many tests, but couldn’t figure out what was wrong. They gave me Iv’s and discharged me, telling me how important it is for me to contact my regular doctor. So I returned home at 11:30 am on Christmas eve. I had no other symptoms and actually felt good through Christmas. Late Sunday night, my symptoms came back. We  called the doctor first thing Monday morning, and saw the doctor by 10 a.m. The doctor ordered steroids and heavy antibiotics, to help with the symptoms. My wife called the prayer warriors, and prayers were answered as I started to recover. A week later, late Sunday night, unfortunately the symptoms came back. So again my wife called the doctor, and another round of steroids and heavy antibiotics were ordered. Again, the prayer warriors were engaged. This time, I made a complete recovery. Then March of 2020 rolled around, and we all know what happen then. I year later at my regular physical, I had asked the doctor if I had COVID before they knew what it was. Although, the doctor could not confirm it, she believed that was exactly what I had. So COVID was already here, way before they reported the first “official” case. You could place a check mark beside way to many COVID symptoms that I had experience the year before. I told this event to remind all of us, that when many of the same kindred pray for a specific reason, God is always Faithful and answers prayer. I believe God had placed his healing hand on me and healed me from COVID or whatever it was that made me ill. My wife will tell you, when I was in the ER on Christmas eve morning, she had her phone out and was getting ready to call family in, because she said she saw death in my eyes.

Backing up just a little,  April of 2019, I had seen an orthopedic about my left knee. X-rays showed I was bone on bone. Unfortunately, the insurance I had wouldn’t approve a knee replacement until I had done 3 shots of cortisone in my knee. Of course it didn’t work. So in June of 2020, I had my left knee replaced. I wish I could say that was it, but my trails were far from over. You can read more on part 2.

What I am trying to tell you through all this is, Just because we are children of God, we can’t escape the illnesses of this world. However, we can have victory in any kind of trial we are in. God is always Faithful, God will always answer prayers. Sometimes just not in the way we expect.
