I make it a habit of not making to many comments on Facebook. When I have deep thoughts or any thoughts for that matter that I wish to share with any one who wishes to read them, I will use this blog. (One of my reasons for starting this blog a few years ago.) When I do comment on Facebook, it is because something has struck me (either good or bad) and want to share it right away and I try not to analyze it too much.
My wife says, I am an analyzer. She says, when if comes to making tough, or new decisions, I have a tendency to over think, scrutinize, making the decision much more complicated and longer than it needed to be. On the other hand, my wife is quite the opposite, making these decisions much faster than myself. Sometimes making her frustrated at me for dragging my feet. We both usually end up with making the same decision, with my wife getting there much faster than myself. In her words she puts it like this, ” You climb up and over the mountain, where I just go through it.” I believe this is why God has put us together. We both complement each other from being opposite. She speeds me up, and I slow her down but in the end, we are united in the decisions we make.
When you put your comments or thoughts on Facebook or any other internet out-let, you need to be ready to accept views from other people. At times, people are going to share their views about your comments which may be totally opposite of yours. You have the option of firing back and pushing your views back on them, or you can ponder on them, trying to see the whole picture.
My point is, when you share your views, you need to be ready to take on others views too. You may not agree but you can always find some truth in them if you are willing to let your guard down and look. Who knows, you just might change your view, or find something you never thought of before.
Many family feuds have started because we are so naive to think we have the one and only right view. Even if you think the other person is way off on a particular view, you can still respect them and agree to disagree.
