Have you ever been asked which season you like the most? For me, Spring is the best time of the year. I look at the seasons as the years of life. Spring is like a new-born baby. The trees start their budding, grass starts growing, you hear more birds chirping and building nests for new life. The days are now noticeably longer. There is a freshness in the air, new life is springing up all around you. When the season changes into summer, it reminds me of my teenage years. Off from school on summer break, hanging around with my friends playing baseball or swimming in the backyard pool, weeding the garden or mowing the yard. Laying on the bank of the river, watching ducks and ducklings swimming about. Those warm summer nights, driving with the windows down and feeling the summer breeze in my face. Good times, recorded and stored in my mind for as long as I live. The weather starts cooling off and the trees start to turn brilliant colors of red, orange, gold and yellow, I know fall is on the doorstep. The year is now in the adult stage. Its time to be serious about life. The air is to cool to swim in the backyard pool, and the nights are to cold to be driving with the windows down. Empty nests are left from our feathered friends, squirrels are busy gathering and storing food and even people are putting away summer items preparing for the next season to come. Winter, the last season of the year or for this blog, the last years of life. The trees are bare and the green grass has been replaced by white fluffy flakes of snow. The birds chirping are now gone, only to hear an occasional sound of a train horn coming from a distance in the cold crisp air. The season is drawing its last breath in order to start the cycle over again.
The question is, how are you spending your seasons of life? Are you secured in an unshakeable foundation or are you like a leaf in the wind, being pushed around from here to there? God provides his children a foundation that can not be moved. It is what gives us the total security to trust in his plan for us. Sometimes we go through trials and hardships to be tested. The end result will be a stronger faith and trust. This is why children of God have an unspeakable joy for the trial there in the midst of. They know their strength comes from God. They know God is there beside them directing their path. They know God will see them through to the end, to the other side. They will see the dawning of a new season.
I am going through one of these trials right now, but I know God is there with me, directing my path and I can go on with security knowing, God will never leave me in this world alone. I will keep the joy and know God has a brilliant plan for me. I am awaiting for the new season to begin in my life.
