I Can’t Take it Any More

I know it has been some time since I last written. Life gets busy and tweenty-four hours just isn’t long enough in a day. I can’t change the hours in a day, so I just have to do a better job with time management.

The question or thoughts that are floating around in my head right now is that of “Why do we always question God when bad things happen to loved ones or us?”

Right now I am going through some medical problems. It seems that after a battery of blood tests, my Doctor has refered me to an Endocrinologist. (study of hormones) Apparently, according to my Doctor,  my hormones are terribly out of balance. So much so that I need to see a specialist to find out why and be treated to stay in good health.
This is not a big problem for me since I don’t really notice much difference other than a few minor things I won’t go into them here. My question is not of the minor problems we face each day, rather the big ones like; When family members have strokes or heart attacks, accidents that cause death or long term dissabilities, etc.

Let’s be honest about this, when things like these happen, the response we give is “why me, why would you let this happen God?, Why is God punishing me?”

For many of us, these are common responses, but they are also responses of little or no faith.               What do I mean?

If you have placed your trust or faith in God and believe God is in control of everything and know that God loves you and will meet your every need…. Why would you even question or blame God? Faith may be only a small five letter word but it has a tremendous impact on our daily lives. If we have strong fatih, we won’t ever question as to what God is doing, because we know God has a plan, a plan that will eventually lead us to his Heavenly Kingdom. To question God is not having enough faith in trusting God that He knows what he is doing. Fatih is believeing without seeing.  Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)

Our response to God when crisis arise should be, “God, I don’t understand but I know you are in control.  I will believe by faith that you will show me what you want me to see, use me as your vessel, so others will see your gentleness and love through my actions and speech.”

I write this from experience, even I have even questioned God at times in my life. We are humans and we fall short of God’s Glory, but God’s grace is enough to forgive us when we do fall.

When bad things happen, it is a chance for us to grow in Christ, become stronger in our faith as we learn to depend more on Christ. Sometimes it is not us that God is teaching. God maybe using us to help others as they see our reactions to the crisis. Many times God will show us why things happened the way they did, but most times He does not. Being a child of Christ means totally full heartedly following Him and solely depending on Him for everything.  Yes, we have worldly things but are they really ours? Who provided them for you? Who gave you the ability to do your job? Who gave you life? Was it not God who created Adam and Eve? Was it not God who made the Garden of Eden? Was it not God who created the Heavens and the Earth, stars, sun, moon? God is the creator of everything, so in reality, the things we say we have are not really ours. Our God is very gracious and loving,  God has blessed us with everything we have so, if God can do all this, do you not think that he is in control of your crisis?

Faith, Noah had faith, so much so that he built an ark in the middle of the dessert for 100 years. Moses had faith, he led his people out of slavery and crossed the red sea. Mary had faith, she was a virgin mother of Christ. There are many, many more people in the bible that showed faith. Many of them were laughed at, ridiculed for thier faith, but they all trusted in God and God blessed them greatly.

What we may see as a BIG PROBLEM is a mere little grain of sand to God. He knows each and every one of us better than ourselves and He will not give us any more than we can handle. Crisis and trials will come to everyone, how we get through them depends on how much faith you are willing give.  God wants us to committ to Him wholly and totally. Our faith will be tested.  Are you ready?
