There it was, I came home from a hard days work, passing through the kitchen and looking at the oval table with a blue linen stretched across the top so perfectly, reminding me of early mornings on vacation when I would walk down to the lake and marvel at the calmness of the water. Right in the center of the table sitting in a red colored glass vase, were beautiful bluish-yellow and red flowers glimmering in the softness of the summer’s eve light. I bent over to smell them expecting to smell a bold earthy scent only to find out they were just a shinny silk replica of the real thing.
There are Christians and there are people who pretend to be Christians just like the silk flowers. From a distance, these silk Christians seem real and can fool you. But when you are up close, you can see that they don’t have the joy and love that passes all understanding as the true believer. If you are a silk flower, it’s not to late to become the real thing. God says, “I am the way, the Truth and the life, no man may come unto the Father, accept by me.” John 14:6
Be a real flower, and become a beautiful blossom for the world to see.
